Julie Herber- Associate Artistic Director/Artistic Director-The Fun Company

Julie Herber is a graduate of Towson State University, with a degree in Theatre Arts.

After graduating from Towson, Herber lived in Baltimore for several years becoming part of

Charm City’s theatre scene. Next, she moved to New York City where she began working in

children’s theatre with the Pennybridge Players in Brooklyn.

When the opportunity arose to start her own company, Herber moved back to Frederick

to co-found Theatricks, Inc., a family theatre company with a circus arts influence. She

performed, wrote and directed for the troupe for 6 years. Herber’s work with the troupe also

included administrating the troupe’s year-round acting curriculum for children. Herber was on the roster for Young Audiences of Maryland for 10 years, performing and presenting workshops, also touring her one-woman show – Let’s Talk About the 90s.

She has performed, directed and choreographed for countless educational institutions,

dinner theatre, regional and summer stock companies throughout the state. Herber teaches at

Frederick Community College, McDaniel College and MET’s The Ensemble School. In addition to presenting after school theatre programs to local schools and arts facilities, Julie works with a senior theatre troupe at Buckingham’s Choice.
